From France - Olive oil may reduce risk of stroke, according to a report published in Neurology. Researchers studied over 7600 elderly individuals, finding that those who consumed olive oil regularly in their diet had a 41% reduced risk of stroke when compared to those who never used it at all.

Olive oil 'helps prevent stroke'
Olive oil can help prevent strokes in people over 65, a study suggests.
They found those who used a lot of olive oil in cooking or as a dressing or dip had a lower risk of stroke than those who never used it.
The researchers say older people should be given new dietary advice regarding olive oil, based on the findings, which are published in the journal Neurology.
Can Olive Oil Help Prevent Stroke?
Olive oil, which has long been associated with a heart-healthy diet, has now also been linked with a lower risk of stroke.
Researchers surveyed 7,625 people age 65 or older in three French cities to determine their levels of olive oil consumption. Then, they examined the participants' medical records for occurrence of stroke, over about five years of follow-up
